Silver Spring, Maryland, USA: Ambassador Robert Seiple

On Sunday October 12, 2014 the members of the IRLA Board of Directors voted to reelect Ambassador Robert Seiple IRLA President for the next two years. Seiple was first elected in 2012. He succeeded to Dr. Denton Lotz. In his report, IRLA Secretary General Dr. John Graz thanked Ambassador Seiple for his leadership during the last two years and for the two coming years.

Dr. Graz gave a report about the IRLA activities which included a number of congresses, symposiums and forums held on five continents. He underlined that the regularity of the IRLA events made a difference in the promotion of religious freedom. Examples given were: The 16th IRLA Meeting of Experts; the 12th Religious Liberty Dinner in Washington DC; the IRLA weekly TV show “Global Faith and Freedom”.  Graz said that the support of the IRLA Festival of Religious Freedom brought the public promotion of religious freedom to a level never reached by gathering 260,000 people on the five continents. From November 2014 to May 2015, ten Festivals will be held gathering more than 150,000 attendees.

IRLA Secretary General announced the next 18th World Congress will be told for the first time in the US, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, August 22-24, 2017. The IRLA has become one of the most active NGOs promoting religious freedom in the world.

During the Board of Directors meeting held Wednesday October 8, Dr. Ganoune Diop and Attorney Dwayne Leslie each gave reports on their work at the US Congress and at the United Nations.
